Milford 2 - 3 Cardiff Uni 3s

Milford slipped to their first home defeat of the season against Cardiff University 3s.

Looking to continue their winning form Milford started the game well, putting Cardiff Uni under pressure and forcing them to make mistakes in possession. Rachel Coe gave the home side an early lead after capitalising on a misplaced pass from the Cardiff Uni defence.

But the university team responded well, winning possession in midfield and sliding home the equaliser despite Charlotte Davies’s attempted goal line clearance. However the home side once again took the lead before half time as Rachel Coe’s first time shot found the top right hand corner from a Kacey Arran pass.

The away team looked to dominate from the start of the second half, forcing Milford back and pinning the team in their own half. The pressure eventually told when some good link up play cut through Milford’s defence to give the Cardiff Uni striker her second goal of the game.

Shortly after, some quick thinking from the Cardiff Uni midfield found their attacker in the D who deflected the ball past goalkeeper Maggie Sturley to give them the lead. Some smart play and continued spells of possession saw Cardiff Uni close out the game and earn a worthy 3 points.

Milford look forward to another home game this weekend against Abergavenny.
